About the project

This project involved the design and construction of a primary school yarning circle, a dedicated outdoor learning and gathering space encouraging connection, reflection, and cultural sharing.

Works included the removal of vegetation and thorough site preparation, ensuring existing drainage flows were reinstated and maintained.

The construction process involved laying and compacting road base and decomposed granite to form a stable, accessible surface suitable for student use. Sandstone logs were installed to create natural seating and define the circular space.

Additional works included the preparation of surrounding garden beds, planting of native species, application of mulch, and placement of ornamental elements to enhance the environment. The completed yarning circle provides a welcoming and durable space for students and staff to gather, learn, and connect with Country.
